Open Space, a student dance concert, allows CU students to show new dance work.  In this performance, undergraduate and graduate students  present dance pieces which break boundaries to expose thought-provoking composition.  The show is produced by CU DanceConnection.  This  annual, formal concert succeeds  through the collaboration of CU students choreographing, performing, and volunteering in technical assistance.      Through this student collaboration, Open Space shows audiences the true effect of movement from the human body.

THE PROCESS

1. Open Call Auditions happen at the beginning of the academic year.  These auditions allow student choreographers to seek out performers in their new work.

2. Adjudication Process:  A month before the show, CUDC facilitates an adjudication process.  During adjudication, each choreographer presents their piece.  The adjudicators give individual feedback.  From this showing, the adjudicators chose what pieces will be shown inOpen Space.

3. The Show!  The show consists of three performances-- Friday and Saturday evening and a matinee on Sunday. This year's performance will take place September 18-20
